Here in Abilene, as in other places I’m sure, the market is getting Hot, Hot, Hot!
People want to move in the summer. The kids are out of school. Vacation time has been saved up. The weather is nice.
(and as someone who has moved in the Winter, avoid it if you can!)
That being said, more people are listing their homes, and more buyers are buying them. So what does this mean for you?
Well, if you’re a seller it means, now is definitely the time to sell and hopefully get the most for your house. List your home at market value or close to and you will potentially find yourself in a multiple offer situation (that buyers hate) but that will benefit you in the end. Don’t accept an offer the first day your house is listed either. IF you’re getting offers the first few days, wait until the weekend to see what all come in before making your decision.
If you’re on the buying side, be prepared for that multiple offer situation and and be prepared to give your best and final in those situations. That doesn’t mean you should over pay, but the market is affected by demand, and you may be affected by that also. There will be more houses though, sellers are dealing with competition, so if your best offer is not the right one, keeping looking! Chances are you will find something else!
