Hi, I’m Steve Stovall with Stovall, Realtors. Today I want to give you three reasons why you should not even consider buying a home right now.
Number one, if you’re someone who moves a lot.
You don’t stay in one place, you got a career that takes you from place to place. If you’re not going to be in a home for at least three years, maybe you shouldn’t buy right now. You should consider staying in a home at least three years in order to recapture the closing costs that are involved with every purchase or sale.
The second reason would be if you love having someone else do all your repairs
And all of your maintenance and you just love being able to call someone. The flip side of that is you don’t have the freedom to paint your home the color that you want or have a dog or something like that. But if you want to put those repairs and maintenance on someone else then maybe home ownership isn’t for you.
The other reason would be that you don’t really care about building wealth.
I know that sounds really fun but, home ownership is a way that you can build wealth. When you’re buying a home, you’re actually paying for that home overtime, but your value is going up, and your balance is going down, and the difference is equity.
Conclusion
So if you don’t care about that, maybe you shouldn’t buy a home right now. If that’s something that appeals to you though, you can take advantage of today’s interest rates that are incredibly low, historically low, and the inventory that’s great in Abilene right now. If we can help you with this, give us a call here at Stovall, Realtors. Our phone number is 325.691.1410.
